Hi Dave
Is the split all the way into the pumpkin?
If so the pumpkin is not going to be weighed as a champion.
It the hole is not all the way thur you are one the right track. Joel Holland
had a world record holder that had a split that went all the way thru the
stem but didn't go into the cavity. (Hey Joel, see we still remember all the
Hero's that got us to this point. Thanks)
If the hole is all the way inside you might want to check under the bottom.
If the bottom is not soft I would spray a light mist of funguside inside and
seal the pumpkin up so no more air gets inside and starts the pumpkin to rot. I
would use silicone calk and if the hole is bigger than that try that expanding
foam that builders use to fill cracks.
