David then seal it up so you can still use it as a display. Again check the 
pumpkin to make sure it is still sound. Then if it is I would take a light 
funguside and spray the inside (Lightly!) Then seal the hole up with spray 
epanding foam, wax or chalk. The list may also have many other ideas. I have saved 
quite a few for a while longer using this method. Air to the inside starts the 
inside to get soft.
If nothing else hold it to get the weight and work to better it next year.
