Unusual blemish

I noticed on my approx 575 pounder today a two inch,
perfectly round, firm indentation about 1/2 inch deep.
 It is located about 5 inches up off the ground. 
Otherwise it is growing & looks healthy but I am
worried this might be a sign it is rotting from
within.  Has anyone seen such a thing and are my fears
justified?
