It absolutely is the media. EVERY time that I've been an actual eyewitness
to something that the "media" has covered, I see that their coverage is
something different than the truth. They are interested in "a" story, not "the"
story. There is little to no effort to verify facts, as long as there is enough
"data" to fill a few paragraphs.
<rant=off>

While I'm here, here's a question that is sure to spark some interest: Do any
of the GPC weighoffs charge a fee to enter? My closest GPC affiliated weighoff
is now charging $25... ;-(
