Green Pumpkins

Hello All !
I am a new subscriber and have just finished the growing season (well, just
about any way) here in Connecticut, and am wondering if any of you giant
growers might assist me now for next season.

I planted Dill's giant seeds 700-900 lbs. this spring for my first try
ever......at pumpkin growing. So now I'm looking at my not so giant which I'm
guessing will weigh in at about 100-150 lbs. I realize that my growing site
is not the best and wasn't looking for a really big one,....but i did expect a
larger fruit. I followed the nourishment guides in the "how to grow" books,
etc. We had a really wet season. I'll blame part of my failure on that.
But, what I'd really like to know is, HOW do I get an orange pumpkin. Mine
are all (3) green? They are certainly not squash.
Many thanks for any advice for next season. Also, now that Dill is out of
supply for GIANT seed, can anybody recommend another source for seed.
Thanks,
Don
