Out of the running

  List
Well here it goes again !! I am officially out of the running for the 2003
season (competition)
Yes heart braking but every year you learn more and more.
 Here is the run down...

790 Daletas......the plant only produced two pumpkins on the main vine
and one on a secondary... I kept one on the main vine crossed it with the 845
Bobier. it started slow then started putting on weight in early August. the
Baboon butt was the size of a dinner plate and split right down the middle leaving
two lobes on one side and three on the other. heart braking it was 719 lbs
EST and a mouse got in and ate almost all the seeds ... it was high and long
really nice deep orange 25 inch stump and runner was half again as big as a coke
can....Leaves 31 to 37 inches across...
845 Bobier...... Great plant nothing special about the plant but nice...
the pumpkin started oozing mush from the bottom after three weeks of no growth.
I did an Autopsy and could not find the problem it was FULLY rotten and no
seeds were viable it got dark and I took a flash light and tried to find the hole
!!! I did !! in the center of the lobes there was a hole the size of a soda
straw where the lobes did not close... Really ODD has anyone ever seen this ??
It taped put to 663 lbs EST....
I have a secondary pumpkin on the plant that is 845 Bobier X 790 Daletas
that is still viable but I trimmed the runner 1/2 of the way through so it
would not steal energy from the main pumpkin YES A MISTAKE !!
Other then this I have NOTHING but wanted to share the info with the list
!! Take care all !!!
