SE MN Weigh Off Information

Dave Bhaskaran has mentioned several times that I will provide the weigh off information for SE Minnesota. So, here it is. Dave should have some competition for his large pumpkins as there are other big pumpkins in the area. I could not view Dave's pumpkins at the web site either, so I guess I will have to go over to his patch and view them. Actually, Dave I help each other when the other takes a short vacation in the summer. The weigh off information follows:

The Southern MN Giant Pumpkin Growers Weigh Off is on Saturday, September 24, 2005, in Austin, Minnesota, at Jim's Super Fresh Produce. Take I-90 to the 4th Street NW exit, and then go north for three or four blocks and Jim's Supper Fresh Produce will be on your left (west).

Classes of items weighed and measured are: Pumpkins, squash, watermelon, sunflowers, and long gourds.

Time: Items weighed and measured between 10 am and noon.

A pumpkin pancake breakfast will be served between 8:30 am and 11:30 am and a lunch stand will be open between 11:30 am and 2 pm.

For the children: Petting zoo and matchbox children's threatre characters

The cost to enter items for an individual is $10 and $20 for a family. This fee allows an exhibitor to enter two specimens per class. Pumpkins and squash must be on a pallet.
