St. Johns Michigan
Hi all,
Although I did not compete this year, I have watched from the side lines and
smile each time a record is broken.
I just heard from my friend Don VanHoutte from Romeo, Michigan and he gave
me the top finishers from the weigh-off at Andy T's in St. Johns, Michigan.
Pumpkins
Todd Swartz from Clare, Michigan set a new state record for pumpkin and
squash.
1. 1199 grown by Todd Swartz. Measured 400" over the top.
2. 1070 grown by Don VanHoutte of Romeo, Michigan 380" over the top.
3. 1036 grown by Randy Walden of Nashville, Michigan
Squash
1. 1018 grown by Todd Swartz
I look forward to hearing all of the stories of the Halloween monsters and
after this first year of rest for my garden in 20 years, I look forward to
growing for gold next year.
God bless you all,
Bill Garvey
PS. Check out this site a friend finished for me, it is to help remember
09-11 and how so much love can come from one of our pumpkins.
