Hi Guys!
Just a reminder that the annual pumpkin poetry contest will begin about the
same time as patch cleanup begins, when the last pumpkin has sat the scales.
Around November 1.
I need three judges. Apply here.
Meanwhile, almost any of you can do better than this:
POLLINATION
by Kathie in Santa Rosa
Pollination is funny.
Before the day gets too sunny,
(But after you've spent so much money)
You're down on the ground
With the males you've found.
Yes, pollination is crazy
Unless you're too fat and too lazy
You wave the bees away to a daisy
And you do
What you've come here to do...
Have you ever had a blossom flower
In the morning hour
When you weren9t there?
And the bees get there before you do
With pollen from you-don9t-know-who
And you cry and shout and tear your hair?
Oh, pollination is mysterious
The science behind it is serious,
It can leave a grower delerious
(Even if a beginner)
As he schemes
and he dreams
Of a weigh-off winner.
