Debbie,
SVBs wont dammage your fruit directly. The problem with them is vine dammage
that cuts off water flow. If you are in N. IL, you have a couple of weeks
left for growth. In my humble oppinion, I would go with what you have. I had
terrible SVB problems this year in N. Indiana. I slit some of my vines with
a razor and pulled the grubs. This was in July though and had time to burry
them and get em to root. At the end of the year, pull your vines and remove
them away from next years patch. I burn mine. Good Luck!

Hey gang. I was wondering when you start to cut back vines? I've been
cutting some leaves off that are damaged, by disease or insects I don't
know. Now I have only a couple of leaves at the stumps. I have found one
SVB in one of the vines and cut the vine off. How do i know if it got the
pumpkin?
Debbie
