My stem is starting to get a little soft. I bathed her in a bleach
water bath when it was quite wet here, rain everyday for almost a week
straight and I made sure that the split up near them stem was given
special attention but now my stem seems to be getting soft. Also,
there seems to be green circular splotches that start near the stem
area and seems to be spreading down ward. The top 1/3 has circular
splotches in the shade of lime green. I do have to say that the shape
of this pumpkin is Cinderella like, absoluetly perfect pumpkin with
regard to shape. The other pumpkin I have grown is getting up there
but its not very pleasing to the eye, somewhat lopsided and no green
splotches. The perfectionist in my is simply offended with lopsided
fruit!
Does anyone have a clue as to why she is turning Soft in the Stem and
spotty on the top half?
Also, does any one know the record currently held for first year
growers? Its apparent I am not going to grow an 1800 lber this year so
I have to make the best of it and hope to break a first year growers
record.BUT just wait till next year- I wish I had a mini-me
Good luck to those who still have growing fruit!
