cool night

I have noticed that there seems to be two different schools of thought regarding
whether to keep your pumpkin warm at night or not. One post I read said it is
better to keep it cool at night (not cover unless frost) since it will help
preserve it, much like a refrigerator. The other is to keep it warm. What is
the thoughts from the list?

I have tarps over the pumpkins, supported by poles, and I cover them with
blankets at night and wrap a curtain of tarps around the whole thing. I also
use the curtains if it rains to keep it all dry. So far there has been minimal
moisture on the blankets in the mornings. If I don't use the curtains, the
blankets will be quite wet in the mornings. I don't know what them temps get
down to in the enclosure. I have 2 weeks to the weigh-off and want to keep it
healthy, although I think it has stopped growing.
