Was this a state fair?

I heard that 649 pounds won the pumpkin weigh-off in North Carolina. 
601
pounds took second.  There were about 20 pumpkins in attendance.  I did
hear
about the one all the way from Colorada.  Has anybody got more details? 
I'd
like to hear from them.
