Okay pumpkin pals. . .tomorrow my first group of students will come out
on their field trip. I will also harvest my largest atlantic giant
(keep in mind, this was my first attempt!!) and get it weighed. Because
it will be on display in the same area where I will give my
presentations, I anticipate LOTS of questions about it. One of which
will probably be. . ."How many seeds to Atlantic Giants have?" (My
presentation includes information such as "the AVERAGE pumpkin contains
around 800 seeds). So, since this is my first attempt to grow Atlantic
Giants, I've never seen how many seeds are inside. Can anybody please
help me?
Also, I've heard how many pounds of pumpkin it takes to make a pumpkin
pie is 1 pound, but then another person said 2 pounds. I'd like to tell
them how many pumpkins could be made from the 1061 pounder, and/or from
my giant (which is anticipated to be around 275 pounds.
That's all, I hope to hear from lots of you before my first group
tomorrow (1:00pm)
Sue
