Might it be suggested to rinse the seeds in a 5% sodium hypo solution
before drying???
Perhaps this would cause more harm than good?

Some bacteria that is formed during the decay of the parent may be
beneficial. In Tomato seeds this is the case, it help prevent disease. Not
sure if it is a protective bacteria or mold that forms though.
