Since there seems to be a number of people who are growing AG's, but
for a variety of reasons can't get to an official weigh off site, how
about a page for "un-official results".
For example, the recent demise of a 1000 lb pumpkin must have had its
weight estimated by the over-the-top method. Why can't there be a page
to record this growers fine efforts. Others may just live to far away
from a weigh site, or have no means or resources to get their pumpkin to
a site. Even those who have a blow-out early in the season would have a
place to record their efforts up to that point. I have zero concern that
someone would post results that didn't exist. There could be an
"over-the-top" weigh off day just like official weigh off days. If
someone lost a pumpkin before weigh off day their then results would be
posted, perhaps with a note as to what caused its early demise.
I suspect there is much to be gained on many levels, and can see no
reason why there can't be such an "event".
Much of this is "thinking out loud". I have no format in mind, more just
a concept.
Anyone else have any thoughts????
