RE: Benchmarks and other folly

It's been a topic of discussion in my house all summer. We'll be out of
state for a couple weeks the end of June and early July, the peak of
pumpkin bloom and fruit set time, so I'm already out of the running
unless I can find a growing partner who can split some of the chores
with me. My wife tolerates my obsession but resents the time it takes
me away from my family, and my children are too young to be much help
yet at the garden. My older daughter complains when I say I want to
bring her with me to the P patch, but she has fun when we get there so
there's hope for the future. Right now the plan is to collect more
seeds and plan for 2000. It looks like I'll spend more time fishing in
99. Although I may try to micro-grow one in the backyard in 99 if I
can't find a partner. Don't tell my wife yet though. As for the
benchmarks there are some listed under tales of the tape in the new "How
to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins II". Mr. Langevin may post some here
otherwise you'll have to buy, borrow or steal a copy.

Give me a cruise ship and an attentive crew,
for I mean to have a good time. ;-)
