Why do you all say that you have no hope for a record breaker just because you
pollinated late?! If the weather stays warm, and/or you use row cover or
greenhouse the plant, etc., what would make it any less likely to grow the
same as earlier pollinated fruit? Is it just because of a specific weigh-off
date, (and of so, why wouldn't it still count? I am SURE if someone topped
1200 pounds, they would set up a special weigh-in session just for them! I
wouldn't care WHEN my pumpkin would be fuly grown, if it weighed over 1000
pounds!), or does it have to do with something else that can't be controlled,
(or would be hard to control), like daylight length?
