Troy has stated that I can request good pumpkin seeds just by requesting
them.
Then I am requesting them and waiting anxiously. How can I also get some
of those giant tomato seeds? This year a friend planting some seeds from
the Topsfield (MA) fair in my composts heap, and I am growing a rather
large pumpkin, although quite modest from all other reports that I have
been reading. Nonetheless, I am still excited about it as I watch it
grow everyday. I hope that you masters do not mind a few novie
questions.
I water my plant everyday day, but also read that I should keep it dry.
Does this mean not to water the plant, or to keep the fruit dry?
My pumpkin is currently over twice the height and twice the width of a
basket ball, but it is growing on grass, which I have also learned is
very bad. Is it too late to lift it and place sand under it, or will
this put the stem at risk?
Should I be covering it with a tarp, and if so, should this remain for
24 hours, or just certain times?
Any other advice for a beginner? Thanks for any and all help, and all
the ideas that I continually read. - Paul
