I've often wondered about what happens when cir. measurements stop after
lets say 60 days. Now you said the inside thickens and the seeds mature.
I'll agree the seeds will mature better when the pumpkin stays on the
vine longer but what or how do you base your statement that the inside
thickens? anyone have an opinion on what happens those 2 to 3 long weeks
of waiting till show time!!!does everyone continue to water? fertilize?

Troy,
Somebody needs to take a smaller one that has stopped and get a scale under
it somehow and watch it for a week. I would be interested to see how much it
gains once it has stopped on the outside. A good experiment for some retired
grower who has the time.
