So sorry for your loss. It sounds like she's toast to me. Your right it
is a tough thing to go through. I think you got the right idea to cut
weigh and retrieve seeds before it to late. I had a personel best that
measured 334". that developed the
same thing your squash has. I kept sealing it up and managed to get it
to the show to weigh. the rot was pretty well advanced inside. she only
weighed 662#. about 70# light.If i could do it over again I would have
cut it sooner to find out if it would have made 700# for personel best.
now 3 years later I haven't been close since!! My stumpless wonder is
still growing slowly sorry again and best wishes!!
