spots?

question to the group, i noticed this morning that there was a spot
about the size of a quarter on top of my pumpkin.  it was not directly
on the surface, but slightly underneath, almost like a tatoo.  i could
however, see through it, the spot was a light grey.  but like  i said, i
could see through it, so i don't think its rot coming through the
cavity.  what is this?  should i scrape it and apply a fungicide powder?
should i watch it and if it gets worse do the scrape thing?  someone out
there please help, i can't lose my baby, only 17 more days to go,.......
