Scott, I had replied to you but since it was my first attempt, the message
may have been lost in the ozone. Yes, I planted a Dills 715 last year. It
was a plant that wanted to be a plant for a long time before it would
flower. I set a pumpkin on it in early August. By Labor day it had an
estimated weight of 125#. However, by early October, it weighed 598#. It
was harvested around 10/5. This pumpkin was rather orange with wide deep
ribs. It was roughly pear-shaped. It was right on the money for real
weight vs estimated weight while my other fruits on a different plant each
weighed about 10% light. I felt that this plant preferred the cooler
weather, and it obviously came on strong late. The plant had the largest
leaves that I have ever seen. I crossed this plant with a JC 697 to try to
get big leaves and better heat tolerance. I planted a seed from this cross
and have 2 on the hook. Est weights are 300 and 400 pounds. I'll let you
know how they weigh if you'ld like. Will you be at the Big E? Tim
