How to judge the weight on one of these monsters...

Im new to this listserv, and would like your opinions. This is my husbands
second year growing one of these monsters. His first try last year produced
a 230# pumpkin from Dills seeds bought from a catalog. He was hooked. Then
he got some seeds from a guy whos pumpkin was 530# last year. What he has
now is a pumpkin which measures as follows:

All the way around the pumpkin, parallel to the ground, at the stem height
is 112#.\
Over the top from ground to ground each way (over the middle and from the
stem to the end) is 78#. According to the charts we've read, we take these
three measures, add them together, and multiply by 1.9.

This would make this monster 509#...IS THIS POSSIBLE? I mean, its obvious
its significantly bigger than last years, but WOW? Please tell me, are we
measuring this right? We live in WI, and the growing season has been so
long, but we had trouble getting the plants to set pumpkins. This one didnt
set until the beginning of August, and has been growing at an average of 2+#
per day. The pumpkin is just for a local competition between a bunch of guys.

Please tell me if we'er nuts or actually have a big pumpkin.
