Bill Greer and I just spent the whole day in his patch as part of an
open house for our local Amazing Loyalist Adventure which is an annual
event here in Prince Edward County in South Eastern Ontario. We had
over 200 visitors to the patch and they were all given guided tours,
some seeds and instructions and lots of helpful hints.
Bill has his main patch fenced in but his heavy hitters were easily
visible and the path to the patch was decorated with smaller pumpkins
from 277 to 582 lbs. We demonstrated lifting with a small tarp and even
had the seniors lifting the smaller pumpkin.
There was a wonderful response and great advertising for our Prince
Edward Pumpkinfest later in October..
The weather is real warm here and we are hoping our pumpkins will hold.
We have already lost several and have left some other small ones on the
vine hoping that they will provide some pumpkins for our late date
Pumpkinfest (Oct 24)
Kindest regards to all.......Bill Greer and Jim Ives
