Sorry about Jozee.....At least you've had the satifaction of
getting it to 700 .. that's an accomplishment! Did you have styro under
the pumpkin? This is my second year and we've used that, and it
seems to work. The poison seems like a good idea if you don't have
pets. How did you first notice the tear? I am afraid to look too close
at our pumpkin. We estimated the last weight at about 223. If we don't
see strong ribs and muturity by 10/3 we're going to let it grow,
and go to Amagansett without it. This weekend we are going upstate
we'll see how much weight the punkie up there has gained. I 'm not
expecting good news though because last nite I learned from one of the
neighbors that the timer did not come back on when they lost power
during a storm so... the pumpkin has had no food and only rain water for
the past 2 weeks.
