Alan Nesbitt grows 765# from 801.5 seed

Alan Nesbitt had a really good one going on the 801.5 (Stelts, I think)
until it split recently. It was on track to hit 900+ whatever that's
worth to anyone interested in that seed. Here's his last correspondence
to me:

Matthew,
I picked the pumpkin today. It weighed 765 pounds at Len
Stellpflugs place. It has been stuck at 155" for
about 3 days now. I figured
that it is better to get the pumpkin on the scales now instead of losing
it.
The final measurements were 155-90.5-88 for a total of 333.5.When I
picked the pumpkin I thought it had a chance at 800.It certainly felt
heavy.
All in all I am happy with this year.I am looking forward to next season
with
a new growing area in the works. If you think this pumpkin might be of
interest on the list could you mention it when you are on there. It
split on
Aug 6th but was kept alive for over 3 weeks now with grafting wax.Lens
scales are always within one-half pound of actual weight. The computer
I have is very old and has been in the shop twice now due to hardware
failure. My girlfriend and I are going to buy a new one this year for
christmas.
I have not signed up for anything on the internet for fear that I will
lose it
again.Maybe I'm being paranoid.I don't know.Thanks.I will send you seeds

from this pumpkin later this fall.Hope your pumpkins are doing well.By
the
way,the pumpkin is hard as a rock. You wouldn't think that it has been
split
for 3 weeks.I was worried that the bottom would fall out,but it felt
like a
healthy pumpkin without a split. At least we know a pumpkin can survive
for a good month or so with a split.keep in touch.
                                                Alan
