Dear Lauren,

Well ya know , it could be worse,
TV sports could be his curse
where he'd sit and yell,
 at the tube,
in socks that smell

Or he could go off ...say ... fishing ,
oh yes, each- week- end !
leaving you all alone, with out him to fend

At least in growing season , you know were he is
and on October 3 rd when he's done with all this biz
He'll turn his gaze to you, the one that cheered him on
the woman by his side, smiling out there on the lawn

Try to think of it this way , as he's digging in the patch
that he's getting exercise in fresh air, you just can't match,
and the labor clears his head, so that he can care
for a woman who can share, in his hobby,.... that is rare.

So I hope this helps a little as the season nears it's end
make the fall and winter months " your" seasons to tend
and I hope that in the end, you'll find happiness and tried ,
to helped to grow a pumpkin, you can both look on with pride.
