It's Official (Unofficially)
Well, what started out as a pretty good season is rapidly deteriorating
here in Woodridge. After my vandalism, I discovered a blossom end split
in my 854 Holland. The split went all the way into the cavity. Despite
this, I was able to keep the pumpkin growing for nearly 3 more weeks.
Finally the decision was made to cut and weigh the fruit. I am proud to
say that it weighed in at 370 lbs UOW. This is nearly twice my personal
best and only 259 lbs. short of the state record. I also lost my 937
Mombert to internal rot at an estimated weight of 300 lbs a week later.
I am down one final prospect for the weigh-off. It appears to be holding
up well, and with less than one month to go, I have high hopes.
