And we do! Several years ago near Hamilton, while
traveling in heavy traffic on a four lane divided
highway, a very large deer spooked by some unseen
foe had made the terrible mistake of springing
over the metal guard rail only to land dead in the
center of our lane.
Traveling at approximately 70 MPH we hit the deer.
I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful all the
people were that stopped to help my family. They
called the authorities for us and offer kind words
to calm our shaken nerves. We were taken to
Hamilton; to the local Old's dealer. We were
treated to lunch and cookies for my little girl.
After spending the night in Hamilton while
awaiting the insurance adjuster (4300.00 US in
damages), we rented a car and continued on our
way, spending several days in Niagara. When we
returned to Hamilton three days later to make
arrangements for our car, we were stunned to find
it was completely fixed and ready to go! Seems the
guys had worked day and night to get it ready,
having to make several trips north to get parts.
Seems the only thing larger then the pumpkins in
Canada is the hearts of the people that live
there. How lucky were are to have such fine people
for neighbors.
