There are currently 22 North American sites in the Commonwealth. Two new ones were added this year (St. Michales, MD and Indianapolis, In (I need the address)) while one site, Mooresville, NC has dropped out, having lost a primary sponsor. Mooresville may rejoin the GPC in 2000.
This year GPC will award a grand total of $14,000 in prizes to the top growers around the Commonwealth. The prize monies have been augmented by the infusion of $5000 of corporate sponsorship money from the Peters people, the makers of "Jack's Classic" fertilizers. Last year four of our new Englanders shared in GPC prizes, since Topsfield is on of the 22 members.
