Vermonster update

Well....
 
I harvested the Vermonster today!!!  I brought it to
the weigh-off in Lennoxville, Quebec.  It ended up
weighing 576 pounds.  Fifth place....and I got a lot
comments on its looks which made me feel good.
 
First place at Lennoxville was an 887 pounder grown
by Mike Macdonald.  I think the seeds were from Al
Eatons 780.  I'm not sure what it was pollinated with.
 
This is a real nice weigh-off to go to, and anybody
concerned about crossing the border need not
worry...the only questions I was asked were where
were we going, how much does it weigh, how did
you grow it etc.
 
All in all it was a great day... met some nice people,
talked with some great growers and beat my goal
of five hundred.    I've got to raise my goal for next
year. 
 
Hope to see a lot of you in Topsfield.
