What species of Astragalus? Most are from dryland communities, and do
respond to low-nitrogen/high K and P fertilizers. I've never thought of
inocculants in the few I've tried.... but it would be harmless to try
bean inocculant.
By the way, the root nodules in legumes harbor bacteria. Mycorrhiza is a
different type of symbiosis entirely, involving higher fungi.
