For those who may have an interest, there is a great key/guide to latin
Epithets at:

http://www.winternet.com/~chuckg/dictionary.html

This was a link from the home page of NARGS, a treasure of information and
a great society for anyone interested in serious gardening.

I think we all struggle with a dead language, and I am sure even the old
timers don't know all the latin. But it does remove much confusion when
discussing plants. Hope link helps.
