info on GA3?

Hi everyone,

This is the first year I've ever tried to grow plants from 
seeds and I'm having a blast!!--it's working pretty well so far, not
too many casualties (yet!). I'm just growing some pretty basic
flowers--geraniums, violas, lobelia (sorry I don't know the scientific
names). I've been reading the postings (including those in the
archives) about this GA3 with a great deal of interest, but I'm not
sure what it is exactly. Could someone give me the basics of GA3--
what is it, how will it help my little "babies," when to apply it, etc.
OR maybe just point me in the direction of a book or article that
can give me this info?
