I working on the assumption you are talking about Pelargonium-type
geraniums (thick, succulent stems). Try letting them "cure" by laying them
in the shade (no direct sun) for a few hours before using the Rootone. That
gives the cut end a chance to dry and reduces the chance of rot setting in
after you plant them. The cut should be about a quarter inch below a leaf
node and you should remove the leaves growing from the nodes that will be
in the rooting mix.
