In many places of Spain, Bellardia trixago is often found with
Stipa iberica, which is an evergreen grass that reaches 50 cm. and has a
nice flower that looks like a feather. I read it has some ornamental
value but I've never seen it cultivated. I have no idea about
propagating any of those species and I'm not completely sure that it's
this grass what is parasited by Bellardia trixago. But, anyway, I think
the host plant should grow before the parasite (not sown at the same
time) because the bellardia has then access to a full-grown host with
more nutrients.
