Dear Diana:
Don't you wish we had either a nearby library or an available review so
we could compare the various editions. Michael Dirr's Manual of Woody
Plants is now in its fourth edition. Allan M. Armitage's Herbaceous
Perennial Plants is in its second edition. Hartmann, Kester & Davies
Plant propagation Principles and Practices is in its sixth edition.
Wonder if for any of these editions the revision is significant enough
to warrant purchase of the later edition?
The Hartmann Kester & Davies has taught me so much about propagation
that I'd entertain purchasing a new edition. My winter's project will
be micropropagation and the old edition had the best information I'd
found on the subject.
Since the Washington Hort. Society library is pretty much a dark hole
for either information or lending for its out of town members you're
closer to Seattle than me.
Best, Vicki
