Primula

I have been collecting a number of double primulas. I divide them when
another crown shows itself.
Is there any way to perhaps scar the plant to get it to produce more
offsets? Like hyacinths (cut checkerboard pattern with a knife on the
bottom of the bulb and it will produce bulbils at every intersect).
There simply HAS to be a better way than this confounded waiting!
