Hi Tim,
Just as an added bit of info, your Acalpha wilkesiana can take all the
sun and heat you can give it. It is used as a landscape plant here is SW
Florida, many times planted against the house. You can't get much more
intense heat than the sun gives off here. You need the sun to get the deep
coloring. Also, it does take well to pruning and in fact, often needs it to
keep it in shape and to prevent it from becoming leggy and straggly.
