Re: Copperleaf Idenitified

Thank you on the Copper Plant Id. It is indeed the Copperleaf plant, (Acalpha wilkesiana) [distant] cousin of poinsettias. Now I know its hardiness also, and know that I need to [try to] make a houseplant out of it when night temps get down to 50 -ish [F]. I noticed yesterday that it was in fact blooming, the fuzzy catkins invisible ten paces away. Thanks Dan Martinson for pointing me to the picture at:

Lots of good things to see there.
My plant is near two foot tall, not bad for shade in hard clay. It may get moved into more sun since the heat has vanquished other specimens on my slope. Sounds like it ought to be able to take it.

More Heat, but 95 is more welcome than the Hundreds of July. Pray for rain, one good Norther or Souther should break the doldrums and get us in the swing of fall weather fronts.
