Hi, I have had Jewel Of Opar for at least 5 years in my garden, zone 8/9 in
Texas. The plant reseeds all over the place. It looks like a succulant, but
does not seem to be bothered by cold, drought or excessive water.
Basically, I ignore it, transplant it when I want to move it and enjoy it.
I started the original plant from seed in ordinary soil with no special
requirements.
Good luck, Cindy in TX
