I have Achillea 'Pastels' that a friend gave me last fall. It grew so fast
that I divided it in early spring and now have two large patches of it. My
experience is that it grows vigorously from divisions. I've also pulled
baby plants from the main root base and those grew when just stuck in the
garden soil. I think you'd have better luck propagating (without a
greenhouse) in the fall or early spring, while it's still damp and cool
(but not too cold) outside. I haven't tried Perovskia ('Russian sage'?)
yet but I have three small ones that I'd like to multiply because I just
love this plant.
