Re: Warm/Cool cycles-seeds


To answer the question directly, you don't know.  Dr. Deno's books may clue
you in to some that like oscillating temps, Tom Clothier's germination
pages might clue you in to others.  Experience will eventually guide you on
some.  But there isn't any one clear cut way to look at a plant or a seed
and know what its germination preferences are.

Careful study of the plant, and of it's natural history, and a bit of
research are the only ways to make a truly educated guess.  Experimenting
is the only way to truly know.  :)  Be aware that species within a genus
will vary, and varieties within a species may also vary.
