Re: Seed Exchange

Duncan -

I had the same problems when I started my backyard bird feeding list - only
7 letters so called it Feathers. People discussed anything connected with
birding but it finally calmed down and with only 50 members there haven't
been any problems.

Its too bad there isn't some short all-inclusive word for propagation that
you could use - I'll check my thesarus when I find it <g> - the title is a
little misleading to anyone just jumping in but I assume you're sending out
a little note explaining the purpose of the list. It has been a great help
to me and I hope to put some of what I've learned into starting more seeds
in a few weeks. It would be a shame to discontinue it. One thing I did
was ask the group, when a new subject came up, if they wanted to discuss it
(if it seemed off topic) - if most of them did, I went with it. Your list
is of a more serious nature, I admit, and the swapping bit could get out of
hand.

Do you think having it relate to anything seed related would be too much?
I know its not what you intended but sometimes these things take on a life
of their own. (I'm reminded of Stephen Leacock's "Guidio the Gimlet from
Ghent" - 'he jumped on his horse and rode off in all directions')

Refer th seed swappers on to me if you want to and I'll see what I can do
to take some of the pressure off.

Have a good day - hope its a sunny one "out there"
