Ive been told that as long as the rhizomes are wet, they dont know the
difference. Ive heard that ( im going a bit off here) australian water
lillies can survive the billabongs drying up and grow back when they get
ample water ( any aussies on the list, help me please!) anyhow im sure
keeping it under some water will keep it alive. its the deep water that helps
support the leaves.
