I am very fond of the salvia officinalis varieties (like "Icterina",
"Tricolor" etc.) Most of them I have in my garden and I would like to
breed my own varieties, but the problem is: although they are crowded
with bees and bumblebees in the flowering season, they do not set seed.
You can see the tiny green seeds inside but they never develop and get
mature - it seems to me they are not pollinated. I do not have the
problem with the other salvias f.e. salvia nemorosa varieties, there I
can collect plenty of seeds. Can anybody help me in getting seeds from
my favourite saliva officinalis? Thanks a lot!
