Hi Bob,
I'm having alot of trouble with damping off. I don't water or mist from
the top. I have a fan running all the time. I have switched to setting
the trays in a tray of water for 20 minutes, then removing and placing back
on heat pads. Yet still the seedlings are falling over from stem rot. I'm
beginning to wonder about the quality of the germinating mix. It seems to
hold quite a bit of water. (Walmart's Better Homes and Gardens Germinating
and Growing Mix). I used it last year and didn't have hardly any problems.
I'll take any, ANY, advice at this point. I have re-ordered some of the
seeds already to try again, as they are not in any of my stores here. And
now it looks like I'll be ordering yet more. Maybe I'll switch germinating
mixes before I try for the 2nd and sometimes 3rd time.
