Re: Propagation Tools/Misters

I would bet that the media, flats or something else in contaminated. In
a little experiment we did in a propagation class I took, the off the
shelf media was THE item which grew the most bacteria and fungi.

I'd switch media and wash the flats, tools, etc with a 105 bleach
solution. You'd be suprized how much that will help. Also if you are
placing flats in a standing water tray to bottom water the flat, you
should not let the water stand, it should be drained after each watering
and cleaned in the bleach solution before the next watering. It is
interesting to see the stuf growing on the water the flats have been
soaked in. Hope this helps.
