I bought a bunch of Japanese Fan-tail Pussy Willows & some branches of
the twisted Japanese Willow tree from a dealer at the Phila. Flower Show
several years ago, took them home, put them in a bucket of water & when
they rooted, planted them and now I have a 15-foot curly willow tree and
a 6 foot magnificent fan tail pussy willow. No problem starting them
this way, but I didn't plant them outdoors til after date of last frost
since it was March in Pennsylvania & I thought the cold would kill the
tender new roots. Judy Showers (Greenhouse grower & seed-swapper in
Pennsylvania, zone 6)
